This is the conclusion of Olamide Adebisi’s story! The story commenced with A WAY OF ESCAPE and continued with A SECOND CHANCE. You should read them to enjoy this to the max. Here goes…

Olamide went home that day ashamed. She had been used and discarded. Why did she go to Seun’s house in the first place? Why did she betray her husband’s trust in her? Why … Why? She made up her mind to never tell anyone about the incident with Seun. She would clean up her act. The first step was to delete his number, then she would unfriend him on Facebook and block him on WhatsApp. Never again would she go back to Egypt. Well, that was the plan. But as it is with most plans, they rarely work as they ought to.

When Yemi (her husband) got back, she was the perfect wife. He couldn’t suspect anything went on while he was away. However, a few days later, all that changed. Yemi stormed into the house as angry as a wounded lion. “You silly prostitute, will you get the heck out of my house! I didn’t know you are a dog who can’t keep herself. I wish your mother had aborted you. I curse the day I met a fool like you.” Olamide was shocked. She wondered what could have gone wrong. While she was wondering, Yemi threw his phone at her and when she saw what was there, her heart skipped a beat.

There were several pictures of her lying naked on a bed with a caption “Mr Yemi, you have a sweet wife o. Hehehe!” Before she could regain her composure and think of something to say, Yemi had started throwing her things out of the house. All her pleas fell on deaf ears, he was not ready to take any more of her nonsense. That night, Olamide slept in her pastor’s house. Over the next few months, she took all possible steps to repair the damage but it was to no avail. Eventually, Yemi filed for divorce and took ownership of their children.

For Olamide, that marked the end of life as she knew it. She tried to pick up the pieces of her life by getting married to a divorcee but that lasted only two years. After that, she went hopping from one job to another and one man to another. That continued for twenty years until one day when she retraced her steps to Christ. She adopted two children from an orphanage and became a single mother. She got involved with a ministry that counselled single and married ladies. She travelled the length and breadth of the nation teaching people about the dangers of emotional affairs. Her teachings often end with several women crying and seeking direction on how to escape their predicaments. Her life served as a lesson to others and helped them avoid the same mistakes she made. However, even though Olamide became a vessel of use in God’s hands, she was a broken one. Her scars told the stories.

PS. The story is fictional.

Writer’s comment: I hope you enjoyed the journey. The lessons are important for women and men. There are so many things I want to say, so I’ll use three passages to pass the message across. Feel free to share your observations from the story of Olamide. Thank You.

1) These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age. 1 Corinthians 10:11

2) Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished. Proverbs 6:27-29

3) Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12

  1. Well done Ire. Truly, let he/she who thinks he/she stands take heed lest he/she falls. Inasmuch as I will like others to learn from me. I don’t want to be a scapegoat for others to learn a lesson from. The Lord help us all in our journey with Him and May we heed His warning when He is pulling us back from a dangerous situation. Amen
