Earlier today, as I read Acts 10, I remembered a message that Mummy Gloria Bamiloye preached about the importance of God leading both parties in a relationship.

In Acts chapter 10, the Lord spoke to Cornelius, a centurion, about Peter, with clear instructions about his location. The next day, while messengers from Cornelius were on their way to meet Peter, the Lord also spoke to Peter in a trance about not calling unclean what the Lord has made clean.

Furthermore, as the three men were downstairs in the building asking about Peter, the Lord again spoke to Peter, instructing him to go with the men.

The fact that God spoke to Cornelius through a vision (vs. 3), and to Peter through a trance (vs. 10), and the Holy Spirit (vs. 18) reminds us that God can speak through diverse means.

In matters relating to hearing God, there is no monopoly. All children of God can hear Him speak (John 10:3-5). Therefore, when someone says they have a word from God for you, it is important that you also seek God’s leading.

Please don’t outsource God’s leading. Don’t take a decision based on what someone said God told them about your life, business, career, or family.

God is willing to lead you. Are you willing to listen?

The Lord will help us all. Amen.
