GOD’S PLAN FOR CREATION

TEXT: GENESIS 1:26

Genesis 1:26- Then God said, “Let us make man in our own image, according to our own likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth”

God created man in His own image so that whenever He looks at man He would see the direct reflection of Himself in the man. Man was made to be a replica of God on earth. We are meant to talk, behave and practically do all things just in the same manner as God does things. For example, when you stand before the mirror to look at yourself you see an exact image of yourself (as long as it is a good mirror). When you lift a hand, the image in the mirror does the same thing; when you smile the image smiles, when you cry the image also cries. It has never happened that the image will act or be in the opposite direction.

Just the same way the man and his image in the mirror are; so God is with man. But because of sin, man lost that ability with God in the Garden of Eden. In the same way we desire to see a direct image of ourselves in the mirror, so God desires to see His image directly whenever He looks down on the earth at His creation- Man. Brethren, whenever Christ takes a peep into your life what does He see? Does He see a replica of Himself or something else that should not be mentioned?

Beyond all that, it is possible to regain the original image if it is lost. That can only be done by inviting Jesus Christ the Son of God into your heart anew so that He can reconcile you to the Father, the one whose image you are meant to reflect on earth. If Christ is already Lord in your life, you will become more like Him if you look into the Scriptures and put into practice that which you learnt from it (James 1:25).

PRAYER

  • Lord Jesus, I invite you to come into my life today to mend my broken relationship with you and restore me so that I can be a direct reflection of your image here on earth
  • Father, I pray that you will help me to always make you a proud Father whenever you look at me in Jesus name.
