IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU TO BE ANGRY?
JONAH 4:4. – Then the Lord said, “Is it right for you to be angry?”
Are there Christians like Jonah today? Yes!
God sent Jonah to preach the message of repentance to the people of Nineveh which led to their conversion but Jonah the preacher was not happy with the end result of his message. I wonder why. Usually, preachers get excited when the people respond to alter call and surrender
Usually, preachers get excited when the people respond to alter call and surrender their all to God at the foot of the cross as a result of the word which God gave them. But Jonah’s case was different. Instead of rejoicing with the people because of the rain of mercy God released upon them, he was crying out for judgment in his own heart!
There are certain Christians today who are like Jonah in this respect. Even though they are praying and evangelizing religiously to the unbelievers, they still desire secretly in their hearts that the judgment of God will still fall on such people for what they have done. But brothers and sisters, if God judged you the same way you want Him to judge these ones will you be standing today? By the way, who are you o mortal man to judge another? Have you forgotten that you will also be subject to judgment eventually? (Romans 2:1-3)
The solution to this problem is LOVE. If you love your neighbour as yourself and the love of God is made perfect in your heart, then your heart will be open to receive anyone who comes to the true knowledge of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus. After all, you were not born saved, rather you got saved because someone genuinely prayed for you and ministered to you out of love and not for the sake of religion. Therefore, pray now and ask God to make His love perfect in your heart.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, let your love always burn in my heart for the lost so that I will not just be religious in my service to you.
