Mr. Pleasant: Favour!
Favour: Yes, Daddy!
MP: Come and go and buy chicken for me at Mama Rejoice’s shop.
F: Daddy, please let me finish my assignment. I will go and get it once I am done.
MP: What kind of thing is that? It seems I am indulging you too much. When I was a child, my response to my parents’ request was always Yes. You better take this money and do what you are meant to do.
F: Okay sir.

Mr. and Mrs. Pleasant watch their daughter, Favour, struggle to move around with the aid of crutches. She had just been released from the hospital, and doctors said it would be difficult for her to walk without them.
For the umpteenth time, Mr. Pleasant apologizes to his daughter. “Favour, I am sorry. I wish I never sent you on that errand. I don’t know how I will live with this guilt. Please forgive me, dear daughter. Please.”

Iremide: Are there times you wish you could turn back the hands of time? Things you wish you had done? Calls that should have been made? Questions that could have been answered differently? Angry statements should have remained unsaid? There are so many examples.
The thing is, past regrets can be so strong that they deny us present satisfaction and affect our chances of making the best of the future.
Today, Christ is calling. He wants you to let go of the burden. The pain. The regrets. Listen to Him speak.
Jesus: Come to me all you that are weary and heavy laden, I will give you rest. No one who comes to me will I cast away. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come that you might have abundant life. I am standing at the door of your heart, knocking. You don’t have to carry this burden alone. Bring it to the foot of the cross. There is healing available for you!
I pray that you will be empowered to surrender to Jesus, allowing him to heal your heart and give you a glorious future in a way that only He can.
